We met on Monday 7:45 am at the airport Berlin-Tegel. Our flight started a bit late at 10:10. After we landed in Manchester, we took the train to Liverpool Lime Street, which was not far from our hostel. We left our luggage at the hostel and walked a bit around the city. After that we had free time until 9pm where we could get food, go shopping or walk around in little groups.
The next day started with a typical English breakfast ( We definitely liked the hash browns the most). Then we had a great guided tour through the city with a German woman who had moved to Liverpool. We learned a lot about the history of the Albert Dock, which is a complex of port buildings including museums, restaurants and some shops. Then we went to the downtown area. It was very interesting to see the Wall of Fame and the Cavern Club. After a little lunch break we went to the Beatles Museum where we could follow the development of this amazing band. The last part of the day was visiting the Cathedral of Liverpool.
On Wednesday we visited the Liverpool Stadium .We saw the cabins of the players, the VIP lounge and we could even sit on Jürgen Klopp’s chair! After we spent a very long time at the souvenir shop, we went to a museum which was also about the warship Lusitiana. In the afternoon we visited a modern church which looked a bit strange but also very cool and modern.
Thursday, we went to two museums. The first museum was the Museum of Liverpool .We spent most of the time in the exhibition about John Lennon and had `Imagine` tattooed to our eardrums after that. The second museum – the Tate - was about art and I think it wasn`t something for everyone but there were funny things like colorful floors or crazy mirrors.
After our last breakfast on Friday, we had free time until one o’clock when we had to leave to take the train to Manchester. Some of us visited Chinatown, some went shopping in one of these cool second hand shops or fancy candy shops, some just walked around and enjoyed the great weather that we`ve had the whole week!
Everybody had fun and it was a very cool week!
